Matt Gnau is the Rocky Mountain Market Leader for Wells Fargo Advisors. With oversight of close to 300 wealth management professionals, his market spans across Colorado and Wyoming. As the regional senior leader, Mr. Gnau is accountable for ensuring we meet the financial needs of Wealth & Investment Management clients served through Wells Fargo Advisors and Wells Fargo Advisors Financial Network. This includes setting the strategic direction as well as managing the financials and execution of the business. He and his team of highly talented advisors and leaders have the privilege of helping successful people achieve their life’s dreams through wealth planning, investment management, cash management, insurance, and trust services.

Mr. Gnau joined Wells Fargo in 2003 through the acquisition of Strong Funds. Since then, he has served in national and regional leadership roles in Wells Fargo Asset Management Group, Wells Fargo Advisors, and Wells Fargo Private Bank. He and his team work closely with Wells Fargo’s Consumer Bank, Commercial Bank, and Corporate & Investment Bank to holistically deliver comprehensive financial solutions to clients. Matt relocated to Denver, Colorado, after successfully running Wells Fargo Private Bank across Utah. Prior to that he was a brokerage manager and market leader in Washington state where his team was repeatedly recognized as a top branch/market.

Matt is a graduate of the United States Military Academy. After West Point he served as a U.S. Army officer before earning an MBA as a graduate with highest distinction from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business.

Matt resides in Denver with his wife, Karen. They met as classmates at West Point. Together they enjoy supporting education, the arts, and military/veteran causes in the community.
